A private, single-user email assistant.

What this app is

Hermes Mail is a personal email assistant that runs entirely on its owner's own computer. It connects to the owner's own mailbox (Gmail) with the read-only Gmail API scope and uses that access to:

summarise incoming mail and surface messages that need attention;
find receipts, invoices and recurring charges so the owner can audit their own subscriptions;
answer the owner's own questions about their own mailbox.

Who uses it

Exactly one person: the owner of the mailbox. The application is not offered to the public, has no sign-up, no accounts, and no other users. It is a personal automation tool, comparable to a mail client or a local script.

How it works

Messages are fetched from the mailbox by a local program on the owner's machine (gmail.readonly scope), processed locally, and the results are shown back to the owner. No mail content is uploaded to any third-party service, and no mail content is used to train models.
